T'ai Chi Chuan
T'ai Chi is an ancient system of Chinese exercise for the
development on internal strength, balance, health, relaxation and self
defense. The T'ai Chi form is a series of soft, quiet, relaxed
movements that strengthen the mind and body. Practicing the form
will limber and open the body to allow it to function more effectively.
T'ai chi is meditative and will help to cultivate a relaxed and alert
mind.
This particular style of T'ai Chi is the
Yang style as taught by the late Professor Cheng Man-Ch'ing. This style
consists of a series of 37 postures which when performed slowly and
continuously takes about 12 minutes to complete.
