Hatha Yoga

Yoga is one of the oldest systems of self-development known to man. Its teaching can be traced back to 300 B.C.

The discipline involved in the practice of yoga clears the mind of it's pressures and distraction and paves the way for deeper spiritual thought. It is a way in which individuals may attain a deeper and fuller understanding for themselves.

Robin Block is the instructor of the Hatha Yoga class. She has practiced yoga for 33 years. She is completing her B.S in Community Education and B.A. in Dance at UWM.

There are seven main schools of yoga. Each school has different concentrations. Hatha Yoga concentrates on control and purification of the physical body. Rediscover your body's natural healing with:

  • postures to develop body awareness and bring alignment to the body;
  • postures to invigorate, refresh the body and mind by removing tension;
  • postures to stimulate digestion, regulate the kidneys, and improve circulation;
  • postures to soothe the body and breath work to calm the mind. Yoga uses the learning and practice of a series of postures to create a sense of union and harmony within the individual. When the body is explored through yoga's careful postures, positions and stretching movements muscles relax and circulation improves. This releases tension and stress.

Robin recognizes and honors the uniqueness of each person. Students are encouraged to explore and listen to their bodies and to use that knowledge in their expression of the postures of yoga. Students of every experience level will enjoy her unique teaching style, energy and enthusiasm.

Let East West Connection guide you to a deeper and fuller understanding of yourself and a healthier trimmer body. No prior yoga experience is necessary.
